Services

Being a specialist manufacturing facility we can offer services which will complement your department and staff, to help produce a smoother running Orthotic service.
Quality

Quality Assurance

Since Essex Orthopaedics was formed, product quality is one of our main objectives.

We are at present trading with the C E Marking and are Registered IS0 9001 and the medical devices standards.

At present every item that passes through the workshop is inspected and checked through every process the item is involved in.

A quality assurance check list is completed during the manufacturing process as shown opposite, and then stored electronically along with the official order and instruction sheets for future reference.

Before being dispatched the items are passed to our quality controller who thoroughly inspects the items, making sure the Orthosis meets the Orthotists requirements, the items are then labelled and packed securely, and are ready to be dispatched.

Returned Goods:

All returned items are assessed to determine the cause of the return and this information is then recorded as a non-compliance, this information is then separated into two areas.

Manufacturing Returns and Orthotist Returns

Manufacturing returns are remade on a Free of Charge Basis as stated in our Warranty, and are treated as priority.

Orthotist Returns are also treated as priority but these items will be charged.

Delivery

Delivery Times:

General Orthotics take five working days in the workshop, and more complicated Orthotics such as K.A.F.O.'S may take up to ten days.

These times are flexible to accommodate patients and clinical needs.

We also offer a one day clinical turnover if requested, but prior arrangement is appreciated.

Minor alterations and repairs can be dispatched direct to the client if requested, to save on clinical time.

On Site Consulting Room:

Essex Orthopaedics has the facility of a fully equipped On Site Consulting Room, this is can be used by clinicians who wish to work closely with our technicians or need a workshop facility on site.

This environment has proved invaluable in the past for difficult or complex Orthotics.

This service is offered at Free of Charge.

Appointments for this facility are made via the hospital or clinician and confirmed by Essex Orthopaedics.

Clinical times:

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday.

8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday

Workshop:

The workshop facility is open to all negative cast manufactures to modify and rectify their casts, or to visit our site and explain their requirements with the technicians involved.

We have found this very useful in the past, as describing a complicated Orthosis on paper is sometimes very difficult, these meetings benefit both the Orthotist and technical staff as it improves the knowledge and forms a working relationship between the Orthotist and manufacturing facility.
